It looks good. Makes the G1 a little bulkier. But, honestly, it has saved my phone SEVERAL times. I drop phones all the time. I didn't get the insurance on this one. (by accident) So, I had to have a sturdy cover for this phone.
What it lacks in elegance it makes up for in function. The pieces snap together easily and when dropped pop off sometimes. Absorbing the shock.
I am very glad I bought this. It was a good price and saved me A LOT of cash.

The rubber is a coated layer over a hard plastic shell. The sides are still white so it make the G1 look cheap and not so sleek. Makes G1 too bulky. Rubber coating rubbed off within 1 week and the plastic shell started to pop off as well. Not worth the money, I wish I could have returned it, but was too upset and didn't even want to spend the time going back to the post office. I threw it away!

The HTC "G1" is not a thin phone, already. With this case, it grows noticeably in size. It won't stop fitting in your pocket because of this case, but it will annoy you.
Also, the color black is an afterthought, and the edges of the case, which are *many* on the G1, are not black. The whiteness of the structure shows through, and it looks tacky.
If you're buying a protector to ensure that your phone continues to look good, then with this, it's like burning down your house to make sure the bank doesn't repossess it -- clearly and stupidly missing the point.

The case for the T-Mobile HTC G1 works exactly as advertised. It is not, however, the best example I can think of of how to solve these problems. The black rubberized coating is sprayed on on top of a white case plastic, and the white shows through on the edges in places. The swivel clip is a different, translucent plastic. The case holds well to the phone, except for the small piece for the bottom, which has a tendency to come off. I think that the use of a little more plastic could have created better coverage for both the screen cover and the small piece. This case will serve its intended purpose of protecting my phone, but I will probably buy another different case style in an attempt to be more stylish. This style of case would probably be better in plain black or white, without the attempt at "rubberized" which doesn't seem to add anything. Also, it adds more (about 4mm, plus the swivel) bulk to the phone, making it even more difficult to slip into a pocket.
